A genetic isolation of Psilocybe cubensis named Burma keeps charming myconauts around the globe with its mild and benign effects, staying within the scope of the classic psilocybin mushroom drive. At the same time, it is a perfect strain for both beginners and advanced explorers of sacred mushroom medicine, as well as for those seeking to expand the boundaries of their understanding of the world and discover their true selves.

Origin

Much of the evidence suggests that the Burma genetic lineage is localized along the coast of the Indian Ocean in the Golden Triangle region. The generally accepted inference states that the original strain was given to the legendary ethnomycologist John W. Allen by a student who collected it from the rice paddies near Yangon, the capital of Burma (now Myanmar). The first specimens were somewhat temperature demanding due to the stability of their native climate. Nevertheless, nurtured for more than a generation, Burma does well indoors, rewarding growers with abundant fruiting, resistance to contamination, and a balanced effect.

Appearance

Burma's fruiting bodies are characterized by their large size, occasionally reaching an impressive 25 cm. The dense, rounded caps with wavy edges, 5-8 cm in diameter, are golden brown when young, lightening to a creamy shade and becoming flat over time. The gills (spore plates) are dark gray and almost black when mature. The veil is absent. However, a well-defined membranous ring can still be observed on the stem.

Growing Peculiarities and Yields

Colonizing the initial substrate in just 1-2 weeks after inoculation, Burma is an excellent choice for cultivation by novice mycologists, provided the workspace is sterile, and the microclimate is stable. Mycelium displays an enviable unpretentiousness when it comes to nutrient media, quickly adapting to any proposed substrate, whether it is grain, hay, straw, or pasteurized manure of ruminants. The optimal microclimate is 26-29 °C with 40-50% humidity during the incubation period, and 22-25 °C with almost 100% humidity during the fruiting period.

Experienced growers use the technique of "casing" the substrate to increase yields. For this purpose, the foundation (grain) substrate covered with mycelium is mixed with a pre-pasteurized and cooled compound containing 2 parts coco coir, 2 parts vermiculite, 1 part water, and 5-10% gypsum or limestone powder. The container is then covered with foil and returned to the incubator. After 5-10 days, the mycelium will cover most of the surface, which is a sign that the spawn is ready for fruiting.

Even an inexperienced mycologist will be able to harvest up to 250 g of raw fruiting bodies from the first flush with 1 liter of substrate, and up to 150-200 g from the two subsequent flushes. The efficiency of the spawn can be significantly increased by using advanced cultivation techniques (e.g., monotube).

Effect and Dosages

Burma will truly shine when you swallow its wavy fruits, taking you on a long 6-hour spiritual journey. With a lack of experience, confine yourself to modest dosages of 1-2 g of dried mushrooms. This portion will reveal to you the fascinating charms of the magic world without the risk of collapsing into a bad-trip. The effects of a standard dosage (3-5 grams) of Burma will be milder, and the experience will not be as overwhelming as a similar dosage of more potent strains. Nevertheless, even in the case of Burma, "heroic" weights starting from 5 g can only be equal to the experienced myconauts.

The consumption of psilocybin mushrooms is recommended after a three-day diet, and certainly on an empty stomach. Followed by the "entrance syndrome", the manifested inner glow will gently lift you to mystical heights, revealing the interlocking unity of all living beings throughout the Universe and the underlying beauty hidden in ordinary things. Push away your fears and doubts, and be open to encountering anything and everything, for this is the state that opens the deepest corners of your mind. Whatever comes your way on this journey, have no fear, since challenges faced with courage are the best teachers.
