Introduced in 1997 by the Dutch Passion seed bank, Power Plant is a feminized photoperiod sativa-dominant (80/20) hybrid derived from a cross of original South African landraces, including the legendary Durban Poison. Rumor has it that Dutch breeders mixed Northern Lights genetics into the original cocktail to soften the wild sativa nature and reduce the flowering period indoors to 8-10 weeks. Outdoors, the strain is ready for harvest in early to mid-October, making Power Plant one of the few sativa hybrids that can be successfully grown in regions with short summers. Its massive central cola crowns a sturdy stem surrounded by stretchy lateral branches that require support in the late maturing stage.

When planting, use nutrient-rich, well-drained soil with the addition of mycorrhizae. Application of LST and moderate defoliation in the vegetative stage will create a manageable plant profile and improve overall yield performance. Use stakes and trellising to support branches in the late maturing stage.

Indoors, the best results are achieved by using the ScrOG method in combination with powerful full-spectrum LED lights, strict control of microclimate parameters, watering schedule, balanced feeding and strict control of pH and ppm (EC) levels.
